Sisti, Northport Shock Sachem

LAKE GROVE, NEW YORK -- An incredible Northport High School comeback was capped by Brian Sisti's three-point play with 25 seconds left to lift the Tigers past Sachem, 49-47, in a PSAL playoff game.
Trailing 47-42 with 43 seconds left, Sisti hit the first of two free throws. His second one bounced off the rim and Northport was able to regain possession. The ball was fed inside to Sisti, who spun quickly to the basket and scored with 32 seconds left to cut the deficit to 47-45. He was also fouled on the play.

But Sisti also missed the free throw. However, Northport again retrieved the loose ball. Sisti quickly got inside position again and was fed the ball in the low post. Sisti spun aggressively to the goal and scored with 25 seconds left to tie the score at 47-47. Again, Sisti was fouled on the play.
Sachem called timeout to try and ice Sisti. This time Brian knocked in the free throw. A missed Sachem shot at the other end resulted in more free throws for Northport.
Matt Zepernick hit one of two free throws to provide the final margin for Northport. Sachem did have one final shot at the basket but could not convert. Sisti rebounded the final shot as the buzzer sounded.
Sisti almost had a triple-double. He finished the game with 26 points, 11 rebounds and nine blocks.
Adam Cirnigliano added nine points for the winners on three three-pointers. Mike Mosby shined in defeat. He scored 14 points while Charles Hall added 12 and Ryan Stapleton also contributed 12 for Sachem.
