Singletary favors state school

Playing for Kingwood High School, one of the better teams in Texas, 2007 prospect Mike Singletary contributes to the team's success with both his play on the wing and in the paint. Singletary, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound small forward, presently has an in-state school at the top of his school list.
"My top schools are Texas, Texas A&M, Illinois, Kentucky, Wake Forest and Arizona," said Singletary. "Texas and Texas A&M have both been to games this year, and I am getting mail from the other four schools.

"Texas is my leader right now. The atmosphere is great over there. The coaches are a lot of fun, and they are doing a great job with the program."
Averaging 18 points and 9 rebounds per game for his 25-3 squad, Singletary is always working to improve his game.
"I really want to improve my ball handling and my midrange game," he said. "I plan on working hard with Coach John Lucas during the off season."
Singletary, who has a 3.2 GPA, will take the SAT in April.
Mike Singletary scouting report:
A very good catch and shoot three-point shooter, Singletary also rebounds well down low. He has a very good overall understanding of the game, but needs to improve his ball handling and lateral quickness to have success on the perimeter at the next level.
