Sims exploring options

Ryan Sims, the No. 10 ranked prospect in the state of Indiana, has a number of mid-majors after his services. However, as Sims, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound point guard from Snider High School in Fort Wayne, Ind., entertains in-home visits and takes his official visits, he is keeping an eye on the Indiana Hoosiers, which are his favorite school.
"Dayton and all the MAC's have offered," said Sims. "Out of the mid-majors, my top three are Miami of Ohio, Akron and Bowling Green. I'm also looking into Indiana. We have kept in contact, and I've been there on an unofficial and at their elite camp. They have always been my number one school, but they have some guys ahead of me that they are recruiting. It should clear up soon."

During the middle of next week, Sims will officially visit Akron. No other visits have been scheduled. Southern Illinois came to Fort Wayne earlier this week to visit with Sims.
Despite his desire to play for Indiana, Sims plans to sign early regardless of his standing with the Hoosiers.
"I plan on signing this fall," he said. "I want to get this out of the way and get ready for the season. We should be tough. The only player we lose is Marques Johnson. He transferred to Fort Wayne South. He said it was for personnel reasons. I think part of it is that he wants to play point guard to get more experience going into college. But I'm not sure if he is going to be eligible."
