Blue Ridge (Va.) Palmyra power forward Aamir Simms has helped lead his team to a 19-2 record so far this season and has them in position to make a run for a state title. The four-star power forward is currently averaging 12 points and 9 rebounds on the season.

Cincinnati, Clemson, Georgetown, Miami, UCF, VCU and Virginia Tech are among the schools that have extended scholarship offers to Simms.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Clemson: “Clemson is playing like they usually do. They are definitely one of the schools that are on the list of schools I like because I like how they play. I like watching guys like [Jaron] Blossomgame, and I consider myself that type of player.”

Georgetown: “I like Georgetown. That’s a place where I could see myself fitting in and having the freedom to play my game. They are having a good season. It could be better, but they are doing well.”

UCF: “I like their games. The spot I would play, the stretch four, I would have the freedom to play on the perimeter there. They are playing pretty good basketball right now.”

VCU: “I like watching VCU games. They are very passionate about basketball there. I think they are having a really good season.”

Virginia Tech: “They are most definitely having a good season. That’s a good school. I like how they play. That’s a place where I could fit in. They are doing really well right now. They are still developing and still young.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

Simms said he isn’t sure when a decision will come. His main focus right now is to win a state championship then his focus shifts to playing with his travel team, Team Loaded Virginia. Once the travel season ends, he’ll start moving closer to choosing where he’ll play college basketball.

RIVALS' REACTION

Simms admitted that Clemson, Georgetown, UCF and Virginia Tech stand out right now, but it does seem like Georgetown and Virginia Tech have gained the most traction with him so far.
