Simmons told RivalsHoops.com that he has a top four of Holy Cross, Marist, Rider, and William and Mary at this point, all of whom have offered. Other schools who are keeping tabs on Simmons include Towson, Penn, and Penn State. Boston College and Manhattan recently called to inquire.
Simmons hosted Marist, Holy Cross, Rider, and William and Mary for in-home visits in the last week. Towson will be in Kingston to talk to Keith today, as the Colonial program is still in contention.
Simmons is a wiry wing who can slash for buckets. He is reasonably consistent pulling up. Keith has a considerable wingspan that helps him cut off opponents' lines of sight defensively. He handles well, and proved this summer that he could adequately run the point, as he did for the New York Elite. He will likely stay on the wing at the college level.
Simmons played with the Elite, coached by Chris Phillips and Erik Jaklitsch, on the AAU circuit this summer, making stops at The Three Stripes Tournament, Las Vegas Big Time, and The Best of Summer Tournament in California, among other trips. Simmons played a pivotal role in the Elite's Three Stripes Tournament Championship run, ousting the Tim Thomas Playaz in the semifinals with a buzzer beating leaner.
Keith carries an 88 average in the classroom. He has scored 990 on the SAT. He will be taking the test again this fall.
