Sim staying in Pac-10

Portland, Oregon guard Garrett Sim had originally planned to travel down Interstate 5 for college at Cal. On Tuesday, he just cut his trip to a much shorter drive down the highway.
Sim is headed to Oregon. The 6-foot-1 guard from Sunset High School committed to the Ducks, according to his father Tim.

"We had Ernie Kent up last night (for an in-home visit) and the feeling is mutual," Sim told OregonPreps.com. "It's a good situation for both U of O and Garrett and Garrett is very, very excited."
When Ben Braun was fired from Cal, Sim asked for a release from his National Letter of Intent. The Ducks jumped into the picture, along with new Oregon State head coach Craig Robinson.
Sim, a three-star prospect, joins a monster class for the Ducks in 2008. He'll suit up with four-star prospects Michael Dunigan, Matthew Humphrey and Teondre Williams. Josh Crittle and Drew Wiley, another Oregon native, also signed with Oregon in the fall. Prior to Sim's commitment, Oregon was ranked No. 12 in the early signing period team rankings.
