Sidney Green Recruits New Yorker

Amadou Fall, a 6-5, 230 lb big forward from Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, has committed to Florida Atlantic, according to Fall's AAU coach with the Madison Student-Athletes, Paul "Doc" Nicelli.
Fall, a member of the class of 2002, had taken a trip to Florida Atlantic this spring after previously visiting Brown. Fall was strongly pursued by the Ivy League program during the winter. Ultimately, Brown received a commitment from another post player. Lafayette was also a very strong contender, while UMBC had extended a scholarship offer. Farleigh Dickinson also expressed sustained interest throughout Fall's recruitment.

Fall, a native of Senegal, is a bruising post player blessed with good athleticism. The affable Fall was one of the more personable kids on the New York City hoops circuit this past winter.
For Florida Atlantic coach and Brooklyn native Sydney Green (above), Fall represents the first of what could be a NYC to Fort Lauderdale pipeline, considering Green's roots and recent success with the program. Green had courted his nephew, shooting guard Danny Green from Brooklyn's Poly Prep, this spring as well. Danny Green ultimately opted for Colgate.
Fall is a strong student, carrying a B scholastic average. He had previously qualified with an SAT score of 1090.
