A year ago many college coaches wondered whether shooting guard Gerry Corcoran could play on a highest level in division one basketball. As Corcoran's body matures and he becomes a better player, Gerry might start landing some high D-1 offers.
Corcoran, who will prep this season at Worcester Academy in Massachusetts, is looking to diversify his game more. Many coaches that have watched Corcoran over the past year know he can knock down the deep jumper. But Gerry is going to have to prove he can finish his drive. "I am going to work all summer," Corcoran told us after he hit for five three-pointers in an AAU game at the Five Star event this past weekend in Boston.

"I have to work on my strength, my ballhandling, my defense. Also a year at Worcester should help me out too."
If Corcoran polishes these aspects of his game, it's likely he will land in a big conference because he already can hit the three-pointer on a consistent basis. "I am more confident this year than last," Corcoran said. "So this has helped me too so far this spring."
Corcoran told us he has had interest from Providence and UNC-Wilmington. There are many other mid-to-low schools that have offered. But Corcoran clearly has his eyes set for the highest level. "I want to play against the best," said Corcoran, who will play this summer for the BABC athletic program. "It's what I am working for."
