Josh Shipp is ready to take a step forward with in recruitment. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound shooting guard from Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, CA., has scheduled three official visits and five in-home visits. While nothing has been setup at this time, it’s likely that Shipp will schedule his final two visits within the next few weeks.

“I’ll take an official visit to Oregon on September 18 and UCLA on September 26,” Shipp said. “I’m supposed to visit Washington on the weekend of October 11, but that’s not a done deal as of yet.
“Oregon will be coming to my house for an in-home visit on September 9, Boston College is coming in on September 10, Washington is coming in on September 11, UCLA is coming September 15 and Stanford is coming in September 30,” he added. “A decision about my final two visits hasn’t been made, but I’ll probably officially visit Stanford and Boston College.”
There is a chance that Shipp might reach a decision about a school before taking all of his visits. If he is completely blown away after one of his visits, he will end his recruitment right then.
“If I really enjoy one of my visits and know that school is the best place for me, I would cancel the rest of my visits and make my decision,” Shipp said. “But I really don’t know if that will happen. I’ll just take my first visit and see that goes.”
It’s highly unlikely that Shipp will make a decision without taking his official visit to UCLA. Ben Howland and his staff have made it clear that Shipp is a high priority.
“UCLA is a school that I’m definitely interested in, but I’m not going to rush my decision and give them a commitment,” he said.
Rivals.com ranks Shipp No. 49 on the Rivals150 list and the 12th best shooting guard in the class of 2004.
