Shelden Williams Will Take Five Visits

Shelden Williams, a multi-talented and hard-working 6-9, 240-pound forward from Midwest City High School in Oklahoma, told us he is likely to take five official visits in the Fall before deciding.
"My top three are Duke, North Carolina, and Illinois," Williams said. "But I have several other schools I am also considering for visits."

The other schools that Williams told us he is considering for visits are Kentucky, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Stanford, and Syracuse. "Duke is my slight leader," Williams said. "But I am not going to make a decision until I have a chance to see the other schools."
Williams, who averaged 20 points and 13 rebounds per game last season as a junior, is a legitimate McDonald's All American candidate because he has an impact on both sides of the court.
Williams is one of the most sought after players and many believe he is the best player in this year's class of 2002. He plays tough inside and can go out and drop down the jumper. Williams is also a good defender, works hard on the glass, and blocks shots.
Most top college coaches got their first good taste of Shelden Williams when Williams played at the Slam Dunk to the Beach last December. Williams has since built on that momentum over the past several months.
Williams plans on being at the NBA players camp, the NIKE camp, the NIKE Showcase and National AAU's in Orlando, Florida in late July.
Williams said his thoughts right now are only on playing well this summer and then making a college choice. "I want to make sure that I go to a school where there is a chance to win it all," Williams said. "I also want to make sure I go to a school where I can fit in to a system and enjoy playing."
