Shelden Williams Sparks Win

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLORIDA -- When you watch Shelden Williams run up and down the court, you can only admire his size of his frame and the width of his heart. Simply put: Shelden Williams is the complete player.
Williams scored 16 points last night to lead his team to a late night victory at the AAU Showcase held inside the beautiful Walt Disney's Wide World of Sports complex.

What made Williams' performance impressive was he gave the fans and media a demonstration on what his game is all about. Williams finished a couple of breaks with thundering dunks and then he had the nerve to fake some moves to the basket and bury some three-pointers.
North Carolina, Oklahoma, Connecticut, Syracuse, and Illinois were in attendance at the late session. All hope to have a shot at him. (Shelden Williams speaks about his recruiting in Southwest section of this site).
Besides Williams, DeAngelo Alexander was also impressive. He also scored 16 points. Alexander had a solid first day. He is also down to a few schools. This story is already updated in the Southwest section of the site.
This game was pretty close until the second half. Athletes First, led by Williams and Alexander, led 39-35 at the half. They expanded the lead to 63-50 after three quarters.
Marques Hayden also scored 15 points for the winners. Richard Joel led the losers with 13 points.
