Shawn Harris Has Major Schools Interested
Shawn Harris capped off an excellent senior year at Matoaca H.S. in Ettrick, Va., by earning first team all-state honors.
Now Harris will bring his game to Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, where he hops to boost his academic credentials and land a Division I scholarship.

Harris, who played with the Richmond Squires this past weekend at the BET D.C. Summer Pro-Am Basketball Tournament, is a strong swingman who displayed an improved stroke from beyond the three point arc. He is very adept at posting up other guards and muscling inside for baskets against bigger opponents.
A 6-3, 212 pound swingman, Harris averaged 25 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and three steals per game as a senior at Matoaca. While he had the necessary 2.5 GPA in the core, Harris fell a bit shy on the SAT, which is why he will attend prep school in the fall.
UConn was one of the schools to call his house last week when Division I programs began calling prospects. He said he's also seen interest from Virginia, George Washington, Richmond, St. Joseph's, Providence, Virginia Tech, East Carolina, James Madison, Virginia Commonwealth, Winthrop and Boston University.
Just how high Harris gets recruited will in large part be dictated by the upcoming summer and his play this year at Fork Union.
Toward that end, Harris has a busy summer on tap, including appearances at the adidas ABCD Camp, the adidas Three Stripes Tournament at Hofstra and the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas (the latter two with the Richmond Squires).
