Shaw comments on his top three

Now playing for a very good Fairfax High School team in Los Angeles, Calif., with a record of 22-4, Matt Shaw, the No. 41 ranked player in class of 2006, is nearly averaging a double-double. Rivals.com caught up with the 6-foot-8, 230-pound power forward and got his thoughts on his top three schools.
Georgia Tech, Michigan and Connecticut sit atop Shaw's list followed by a number of other schools that are interested in the skilled big man.

Out of those three Michigan has offered Shaw and been out to California to watch him play twice this season.
"I like the Michigan coaching staff a lot," said Shaw. "I've talked to them quite a few times. I really like how they get their players to play hard."
Georgia Tech is the school that has watched Shaw play most recently.
"Coach Hewitt was out here Tuesday," he said. "He seems like a good guy and a good coach. I like their style of play and the motion offense they run. I also like how their players have the green light."
Connecticut has also been to California this season to watch Shaw play.
"I like how they get up and down the floor," he said. "Connecticut has a lot of young guys and they let them play."
On the season, Shaw is averaging 15 points and 9 rebounds per game, while also carrying a 2.9 GPA.
He is well built and has a soft touch around the basket. He can also step out and knock down the three. Not an explosive athlete, and perhaps a step slow on the perimeter, Shaw is very good at using his body to gain position and putting the ball high on the glass when scoring around the basket.
