Shaw Attracts High D-1 Interest

Maurice Shaw, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound power forward/center from Bridgton Academy in Maine, continues to have several high division one programs interested in his game. Shaw, who played last season at Lincoln H.S. in Tacoma, Wash., attended the Winchendon School to improve his grades. According to head coach Whit Lesure, Shaw has done that with success.
"He faces the basket very well," Lesure said. "He can be streaky at times too."

According to Lesure, West Virginia, Fresno State, Purdue, UNLV, Georgia, and Virginia Tech are staying in contact with Lesure on Shaw's progress this season. "He doesn't have a leader and is still open," Lesure said.
Last season while Shaw played in the state of Washington, St. John's, Purdue, Indiana, Iowa State, Arizona State and Texas Tech expressed interest.
After starting out two years ago at Washington Union H.S. in Fresno, Calif., he finished out at Gilbert H.S. in Gilbert, Arizona. Shaw then moved to Tacoma where he lived with his mother.
