Here is the list of schools for Odzic:
“I have offers from Valparaiso and Illinois State,” said Odzic. “Other schools I am interested in are N.C. State, Notre Dame, DePaul, Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Georgia Tech.”
Odzic continued to comment on the seven high majors on his list.
On N.C. State: “I like the ACC. It’s a big conference and an exciting brand of basketball.”
On Notre Dame: “It’s close to home. They have a good tradition, and my style of play fits in with them.”
On DePaul: “It’s ten minutes from home. I love the new coach [Dave Leitao]. He is a really good guy. The campus is nice and everything is new.”
On Minnesota: “I’ve talked to one of the assistant coaches, and he’s a really a good guy.”
On Illinois: “I’ve been on the campus. It’s a good atmosphere. I like the fact they are in the Big 10 and the coach [Bruce Weber] is a nice guy.”
On Wisconsin: “They are building a good tradition. It’s a really good college town.”
On Georgia Tech: “I hear the campus is in the city. I like the city atmosphere.”
Odzic, who is averaging 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game is a prototypical shooting guard. His AAU coach for the Illinois Wolves Mike Mullins has stated that Odzic is the best shooter in the state of Illinois.
“My shooting is definitely my number one strength,” said Odzic. “My court awareness is also a strength, and I’ve taken over more of a leadership role this year. I am going to the basket more this year. I do need to improve my ball handling. My number one priority, though, is to improve my defense. I’m going to spend a lot of time working on defense before I get to college.”
Odzic, a strong student, has a 3.3 GPA and scored a 22 on his first attempt at the ACT. He plans to take the test again after doing some preparatory studying.
