Several Options For Demetrius Green

Demetrius Green is the process of making one of the most difficult decisions of his early life. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound shooting guard from Lexington Catholic High School in Lexington, KY., is still working to achieve a qualifying test score that would make him eligible to play Division 1 basketball. If Green is unable to qualify, he will likely attend a prep school next year or spend a year at the junior college ranks.
“South Florida, Baylor, Kentucky, Bradley, Indiana St., Western Kentucky and just about every junior college program in America are interested in Demetrius,” Lexington Catholic High School Head Coach Bart Flener told RivalsHoops.com. “Oklahoma came out to watch Demetrius play, but they are no longer involved in his recruitment. Demetrius is still trying to qualify academically, so we are waiting for his latest test score.”

If Green is unable to qualify academically, attending prep school for a year is a viable option. The Lexington native would rather head right to a Division 1 school at the end of his senior year, but that might not be an option.
“I think Demetrius is ready to play Division 1 basketball,” Coach Flener said. “Talent wise, ability wise and strength wise, he has all the tools to play at that level, but a year of prep school would probably better prepare him for the academic side of college life. We will have a better feel for the situation once he receives his test score. I know Demetrius has signed up to take another test in case he doesn’t achieve the necessary test score this time around."
