Several Options For Demetrius Green

Demetrius Green, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound shooting guard from Lexington Catholic High School in Lexington, Ky., has not yet qualified academically, so it appears that he will spend next year at a junior college or prep school. Green has one more opportunity to pass the SAT next month before making a final decision.
"Demetrius recently visited Eastern Arizona junior college, so that is certainly an option,” Lexington Catholic High School Head Coach Bart Flener told RivalsHoops.com. “There is a chance that he could attend Hargrave Academy next year as well. Demetrius has not qualified yet, but he is taking the SAT in June to see if he can become eligible for a Division 1 scholarship.”

Should Green ultimately decide to spend two years at a junior college, he would be allowed to transfer to a Division 1 school without achieving a qualifying test score. As it stands right now, Green will likely go that route.
“I don’t know if a year in prep school will make that big of a difference when it comes to his academics,” Coach Flener said. “Demetrius would be qualified to attend a Division 1 program if he received a degree from a junior college in two years.
“That might be his best option right now,” he added. “Demetrius just needs to do what’s best for him. Several junior colleges are interested in getting him on campus and I know that he is interested in a number of prep schools. We should have a better idea after he takes the SAT test in June.”
