Several changes for Arthur

A new leader has emerged in the recruitment for Darrell Arthur, the 6-foot-9, 220-pound power forward from South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, Texas. With the news that Mike Davis is going to step-down as head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers, Arthur, the No. 19 ranked player in the class of 2006, is no longer interested in the Big Ten program.
"I probably won't be going to Indiana now that it looks like Coach Mike Davis is going to resign," said Arthur. "Kansas, Baylor and SMU are the schools that I am looking at now. Connecticut, Oklahoma and Texas are starting to show some interest as well.

"I don't know if I will be taking any additional visits (unofficial) or not," he added. "I still need to talk to my coach about that. I am still planning to take an unofficial visit to Kansas before the end of the year, but nothing has been planned yet. I need to talk to my high school coach about that."
After taking official visits to North Carolina, Indiana, Kansas, SMU and Baylor, there was a time when it looked like Arthur, the No. 4 ranked power forward in the class, would sign a Letter-of-Intent during the early period.
However, after talking with his family and coaches, Arthur decided to wait until the late period. Many close to the situation believed Indiana would eventually be the team to beat because of Arthur's relationship with Coach Davis.
It appears that Davis is going to step-down as head coach of the Hoosiers, as a press conference has been scheduled for later on today. Because of this recent development, a new leader has emerged in the recruitment for Arthur.
"Yes, Kansas and Baylor are probably my top two schools," said Arthur. "Actually, KU is the leader right now. KU is at the top of my list. I really like the coaching staff at Kansas and they are cool with the players.
"I also like KU because they have good freshman and they are playing good ball right now," he added. "I feel that I could come in next year and produce a little bit for Kansas."
Darrell Arthur Scouting Report: Very athletic, Arthur has the size and skill base as well to be a combo forward at the highest level. Capable of dominating the glass, Arthur can, however, play too passive at times. -Jerry Meyer
