Several changes for 2008 Withey

Jeff Withey has seen some major changes take place in his recruitment. The 7-foot-0, 220-pound center from Horizon High School in San Diego, Calif., recently trimmed his list of schools and, as it stands right now, two schools in particular stand atop his list.
"Yes, I have made some changes to my list of schools," said Withey. "Kansas, Louisville, Georgetown, Texas, Syracuse and Washington are the main schools on my list right now. The schools that I just mentioned are the ones that I am most interested at this time. I decided to remove Arizona from my list of schools.

"I called the coaching staff and told them that was going to look elsewhere," he added. "I just got back from an unofficial visit to Texas. It was first time I had ever seen a college football game, so it was a great experience for me. I walked around campus, met the coaches and checked out the facilities. I was impressed with my visit to Texas."
Up next for the No. 9 ranked center in the class of 2008, is a trip to Lawrence, Kan. According to Withey, no other unofficial visits have been planned at this time. Furthermore, the four-star prospect said that he plans to take his time with the recruiting process.
Unless something changes in the near future, don't look for Withey to make a decision about his future anytime soon. The talented big man indicted that he might need to take some official visits next fall before a decision comes.
"I will be in Lawrence for Late Night In The Phog. My family and I are excited about the trip," said Withey. "I don't really know what else to say about the upcoming visit. My family and I are very excited and are looking forward to seeing the players and coaches.
"Kansas and Louisville are my leaders," he added. "Kansas has a lot of history, the fan support is great and it's a big basketball school. Louisville is also a great school, and Coach Rick Pitino is Hall-of-Fame coach. The attendance at Louisville is also great. Coach Bill Self is also a great guy, and I am looking forward to watching them play this season. I want to make sure that I make the best decision, so I am going to take my time."
