Several changes for 2007 Reed

There was a time when Jon Reed was almost guaranteed to stay close to home in order to play college basketball after his high school career ended. However, much has changed with the 6-foot-7, 200-pound shooting guard from Peninsula High School in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. Quite a few schools from the East Coast are beginning to express a high amount of interest in Reed.
"A lot has changed with my recruitment," said Reed. "I am looking to go back east after high school. Schools like Miami-FL, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Boston College and Illinois are starting to recruit me real hard. Those are the big schools recruiting me the most.

"Miami-FL is a school that I really like a lot," he added. "Also, if I decide to remain close to home, UCLA and California are the two schools that I really like. I also have a scholarship offer from USC."
Now that Reed has a set list of schools that he is serious about attending after high school, he is thinking about what schools to visit next fall. While Reed is still in the decision making process, he stated that one school in particular will definitely receive a visit.
"I have been thinking a lot about what schools to visit," said Reed. "I haven't totally made up my mind about all five visits, but I do know that an official visit to Miami-FL will happen. Miami-FL is a school that I really like right now.
"I should know more after the summer," he added. "I am going to travel with the Rising Stars, so I will be pretty busy. We travel to Las Vegas for a tournament on April 14-16. After that, we are going to Dallas, Texas, for a Nike event. I will have a better idea of what schools to visit after I am done playing basketball this summer."
