Seton Hall picks up four-star

Kevin Willard and Seton Hall are now on the board in the 2017 class with their first big commitment. On Friday morning, fresh off a win over Creighton in the Big East Tournament with Xavier on the docket later in the day, the Pirates received a verbal commitment from Middleton (DE) Appoquinimink shooting guard Myles Cale.

The four-star prospect started an official visit to Seton Hall on Wednesday night and wrapped it up Friday morning with good news for the coaching staff. The No. 81 ranked prospect was one of the top scorers in the 16U division of the Under Armour Association last summer.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: In the end, Cale said it was his comfort level with Seton Hall’s coaching staff that played a big part in his decision to commit to the Pirates.“The coaching staff is phenomenal and the brotherly love between the players motivated me to want to be a Seton Hall Pirate.”

RIVALS’ REACTION: Seton Hall has started to gain some momentum with their success on the court this season and they capitalized on that by locking down Cale. The Pirates won’t have Isaiah Whitehead much longer to carry the scoring load, so adding Cale to the mix in the 2017 is a big deal for Kevin Willard.

At 6-foot-3, Cale is one of the better scoring guards in the northeast in his class. He has great range on his jumper and a smooth stroke. He also brings some versatility to the table as a guy that can play both spots in the back-court.
