Senior point guard sets visits

THE RIVALS150: 2016 | 2017

During the summer, few point guards improved their stock as much as senior Charlie Moore.
The 5-foot-10 point guard from Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park outplayed his current ranking of No. 131 in the Rivals150 by a pretty significant margin. Not surprisingly, his exploits with the Mac Irvin Fire earned him plenty of admirers.
Most of that is due to Moore's fearless style of play. Despite being a sub six-footer with a slight build, Moore regularly attacks the basket showing little regard for his own body or safety. He engages in some trash talk, he hits jumpers from deep and probably most important of all he shows characteristics of a player who can be a leader on the college level.
"The college coaches see in Charlie a leader who is fearless and can run a basketball team," Moore's high school and summer coach Nick Irvin told Rivals.com. "The one thing they love is that he is a winner."
Not only is Moore a winner, he is steadily improving. He's gotten better with his decision making and improved as a jump shooter as he continues to add skill that helps to offset his lack of size.
In line to make the move from three to four-star prospect during the next rankings update, Moore has set visits with California (Sept. 11), Pittsburgh (Sept.
18), Illinois (Sept.
25) and Memphis (Oct.
2). He's holding one visit to see who else may want to get him on campus and according to Irvin, Moore won't be rushed into making a decision.
"Maybe before the season starts he will make a decision but not in a rush," said Irvin. "I want him to take as much time as he needs and pick the right school that's going to give him the ball from day one."
