Second 4-star for VCU

For a little while, it was starting to look like four-star wing Tevin Mack was so conflicted with his decision that he might not be able to make choice. Thursday he made his choice.

A 6-foot-6 small forward at Columbia (S.C.) Dreher and the No. 77 prospect in the class of 2015, Mack picked Shaka Smart and the VCU Rams on Thursday.
Playing on the grassroots circuit with the Carolina Wolves, Mack built himself as a reputation as a wing who can put up points and who loves to play up and down basketball and shoot threes.
Basically, his style is made to fit right in to the way Smart and the Rams play. Mack will have to step his defensive intensity up a bit, but from an offensive and athletic standpoint he should be able to make a quick adjustment to what will be expected of him on the college level.
A good athlete who is also a good one and two dribble pull-up jump shooter, Mack chose VCU over a final group that included Georgia, Connecticut, South Carolina and Clemson so this is another case of VCU proving that they can compete with just about anybody on the East Coast for players.
The second player to pick VCU in the early signing period, Mack joins fellow four-star prospect Kenny Williams as an early commitment. A 6-foot-3 shooting guard, Williams currently ranks No. 96 in the 2015 Rivals150.
