SEC school looking good with Hudson

One SEC schools is sitting pretty with the rapidly developing 2005 prospect Theryn Hudson, while another SEC team is working hard to get in with the 6-foot-9, 223-pound, power forward from Lavergne (Tenn.) High School. Having led his team to a district tournament championship with two triple-doubles in his three tournament games, Hudson may or may not visit both these SEC schools after the season.
"South Carolina is really serious about Theryn," said Coach Wortman. "He will definitely visit them after the season. Tennessee is now very interested in him, and they want him to come up March 5th for their last regular season game. They are not sure if they have a scholarship for him, so I don't know what he will do. I doubt he will visit there unless they offer him first."

Coach Wortman noted that Xavier, who watched Hudson play four times this season, has dropped out of the picture, opting to pursue a big man who can undoubtably contribute immediately. Virginia Tech, however, is just now attempting to recruit Hudson, but their efforts are more than likely coming too late.
"Theryn really likes South Carolina and Coach Odom," said Wortman. "You obviously have to be impressed with what he did with Tim Duncan. They are teachers of the game, and that is what Theryn is looking for. Unless something goes wrong with his visit there, it looks like he would be headed to South Carolina."
Averaging 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game, Hudson continues to improve daily and has played his best ball here of late.
"He's had two triple-doubles in the last three games," said Wortman. "He's been so good the last month. His self esteem is through the roof.
"Some schools have trouble with a perceived lack of intensity and toughness in Theryn. But I'm telling you he has it. He is not the type of guy to slap the floor and spit at you, but he is internally tough. The guy's got some fabric to him."
Hudson, who has a 3.5 GPA, also has offers from Murray State, Middle Tennessee State and Lipscomb.
