SEC offer for Hudson

A number of schools have made their way to Lavergne (Tenn.) High School to evaluate three-star 2005 prospect Theryn Hudson. Most every mid-major that has watched the 6-foot-9, 223-pound power forward has offered him. As for the high-majors, some have decided to look elsewhere, others have been intrigued and continued tracking Hudson, and one SEC school just recently offered him a scholarship.
"Coach Odom [South Carolina] offered Theryn last week," said Lavergne assistant coach and former Belmont standout Michael Couey. "He watched him play last Tuesday and then offered on Thursday."

Coach Couey also mentioned SMU and Tulane as schools that are very actively recruiting Hudson. Other high-majors besides South Carolina are tracking Hudson as well, but South Carolina is the only high-major to offer.
Hudson, who has only just recently begun to blossom as a player, is consistently putting up low double-double numbers in scoring and rebounding.
"He gets better everyday," said Couey. "You can just see it in him. He can definitely play at that level. As his high school coaches, we would love to see him redshirt and get that extra year of experience, but Coach Odom thinks he could possibly be ready to contribute right away."
