SEC Lands Another Top JUCO

Kerbrell Brown, a 6-7, 210 pound forward from Dodge City C.C. in Dodge City, Kan., signed with South Carolina. JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com caught up with Dodge City Head Coach Brian Hoberecht, and he confirmed the commitment.
Brown was recently denied admission to Oregon State, which is the school he signed with back in the fall. By not being admitted to the school, his letter of intent became null and void and basically made him a free agent to sign with any other college without penalty.

Former Oregon State Head Coach Ritchie McKay is now the new head coach at New Mexico, so it was not surprising that the Lobos would be involved with Brown this spring.
A native of New Orleans, La., Brown swung between both forward positions the past two years at Dodge City. He was the Conquistadors' leading scorer and rebounder this past season, as he averaged 15.8 points and six rebounds per contest.
"I think Kerbrell felt very comfortable with Coach Odom," Hoberecht said. "I think he was very intrigued by the SEC, and he believes that he fits into their style of play and the direction in which that program is going."
