Sean May, a 6-9, 260 pound power forward from Bloomington North H.S. in Bloomington, Ind., is going to release a statement tomorrow confirming he has indeed committed to North Carolina. "Sean has committed to North Carolina," said Sean's mother, via a telephone interview. "He is very excited to be going to North Carolina."

Sean's mother, Debbie, told us tonight that it was a very tough decision. "He wanted to be his own person," Debbie said. "As I said it was a very tough decision but I am very proud of him and very happy."

Debbie said she realizes that people around Bloomington will not be happy. "He is going to just release a statement," Sean's mom said. "But Sean had to do what was best for himself."

Debbie also told us that Sean's visit to Texas Tech went well. "They watched Coach (Bobby) Knight practice and they then spoke to him. It was a good visit for them."
