Seaford picks Lipscomb

On his way back to his Gastonia, N.C. home from an unofficial visit to Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn., Devon Seaford couldn't even get half way into the drive before calling up the Lipscomb coaching staff and giving the Atlantic Sun school a verbal commitment.
According to Seaford's father Rod, the 6-foot-1 point guard from Gaston Day School decided he saw enough on his trip to verbally commit just hours after visiting the school.

"We weren't even to Knoxville on the drive and he knew where he wanted to go," the elder Seaford said. "It was a terrific visit. I think he felt in his heart that Lipscomb was where he wanted to go."
After touring the campus, checking out the facilities and meeting with the coaches, Seaford felt like Lipscomb met all of his wishes for a college home.
"Everything about it just knocked his socks off," Mr. Seaford said. "The facilities were great. The weight room to the locker rooms to the dorms to the classroom, everything was nice. It was the whole package. I think they met all of the things in his mind on what he was looking for."
Seaford picked the Bison over interest from a number of Atlantic Sun, Big South and Southern Conference schools. The point guard was the pilot of the successful Charlotte Royals AAU program that made it to the finals of the adidas Showtime Nationals in Atlanta this past July.
