The best way for a prospect to maximize potential on the college level is to pick a school that truly fits his style. By picking San Diego State, Rivals150 forward Jalen McDaniels looks to have found a perfect fit.
A rangy and athletic 6-foot-8 combo forward who can play a little on the outside and some on the inside, McDaniels committed to Steve Fisher during an in home visit on Wednesday night.
The No. 128 player in the class of 2016, McDaniels is a versatile player from Federal Way (Wash.) High whose best days are ahead of him.
Fisher and his staff at SDSU have been making a habit of taking long, versatile players like him and building them into very productive college players. That wasn't lost on the three-star senior.
"I just think it's a great fit for me because I fit well and I can come in and play and make an impact my freshman year helping us win," McDaniels told Rivals.com. "I have a lot of trust in the coaches and what they have going on."
During an official visit a few weeks ago, the current members of the Aztecs program made a big impression as well.
"The players are cool, we get along very well. That was big for me especially being away from home. It feels like family and that's what I like the most."
McDaniels is the first member of San Diego State's 2016 recruiting class.
