THE RIVALS150: 2015 | 2016

Monday night, San Diego State got the heavy lifting done when they landed a commitment from four-star power forward Nolan Narain. Now, it's just a matter of whether or not he enrolls as a member of the class of 2016 or 2015.
A 6-foot-9 power forward at La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere, Narain currently ranks No. 62 overall in the class of 2016. A hard working and pretty skilled big man who has a body to build on, he had been the target of an intense recruiting battle between the Aztecs and Gonzaga.
For a while, most had pegged the Zags as the team to beat, but Narain changed that narrative quickly. As it turned out, he just felt more comfortable with Steve Fisher and his staff.
"For me it was my comfortability with the coaching staff and where I felt I would be happy and fit in well," Narain told Rivals.com.
Hard working and not lacking for toughness, Narain has had a solid run on the adidas Gauntlet Circuit with UPLAY Canada. Through eight games on the circuit, Narain has averaged 15 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. A good face-up shooter, Narain is comfortable out to the three-point line. The next step will be getting more consistent as a finisher around the rim, where he sometimes struggles to finish against length.
Now what has to be determined is whether Narain will enroll with the class of 2015 or 2016, where he is currently classified. Academically, he in position to enroll with the current graduating senior class, so he will have to decide how beneficial one more year of high school -- which would be a prep year -- is in comparison to enrolling now. So far, Narain has said he hasn't decided but sources close to the situation feel it is more likely he enrolls at SDSU with the class of 2015.
If Narain stays in 2016 he is the first member of the Aztecs recruiting class. If he moves to 2015, he will join a class that already has a pair of four-star prospects in combo guard Jeremy Hemsley and big man Brodricks Jones.
