Scott commits to Big East school

There is a distinct sound coming out of Carlton Scott's house this weekend. The 6-foot-8 forward from San Antonio (Texas) Madison High School made his college decision and he's happy to let everyone know just where he is headed.
The big man and his family have been playing the "Notre Dame Victory March" because he is the latest player to commit to the Fighting Irish basketball program.

"We've been playing it all day around here," Scott said.
He can't help it. Scott is excited to be headed to the Big East program. A life long fan of the school, playing for the Irish is a childhood dream.
"I've always loved it," he said. "I've loved the tradition and the excitement of it all. I'm excited to be a part of it."
He'll be down right giddy on Sept. 16 when he makes an official visit. The Irish are hosting Michigan on the gridiron. Scott, who's family hails from Columbus, Ohio, will certainly be rooting for his future school.
"We grew up on Ohio State so you know who we aren't rooting for," he said with a laugh.
After the game, Scott said he is looking forward to getting to know Mike Brey a little better.
"He's been great," Scott said. "He's the kind of guy you'd like to play for. Everything he has said has made sense. I'm looking forward to really meeting him in person and getting to know him better."
Scott said he also considered Vanderbilt and Texas Tech. The education he'll receive at Notre Dame played a large part in his decision.
"My dad and I were talking about that the other day," Scott said. "It's top notch. When you have a degree from there, you know you are going to be able to get a great job."
Scott is the first player to commit to Notre Dame in the 2007 class.
