Schools watching Larry Drew

A heady point guard with an advanced floor game for a 2008 prospect Larry Drew is on his way to being one of the top point guard prospects in the country. The son of former NBA standout Larry Drew, the younger Drew has had a number of the top programs in the west come to Taft High School in Woodland Hills, Calif., to watch him workout.
"It's early and I'm wide open," said Drew, 5-foot-11, 155-pounds. "Arizona was here Monday. Coaches from Louisville, Washington, Kansas, USC and UCLA have all been in to see me this fall."

Drew, who averaged 9 points and 7 assists per game as a freshman, excels in the open court where his court savvy and creative abilities with the ball can flourish. Still developing physically, Drew has a solid understanding of where he can improve his game.
"I always feel I can improve my defense," he said. "Also, my jumper could use some improving. I can also definitely get stronger. I haven't started lifting weights yet, so I know that will help my game. My dad doesn't want me to lift till this summer."
