Schools Watching 2006 Lawrence

The No. 64 ranked point guard in the class of 2006 Marcus Lawrence is hearing from numerous schools. Most of the schools on his list will be making their way to Las Vegas, Nev., to further evaluate the 6-foot-1, 165-pound point guard from Bishop Gorman High School.
“Right now I’m considering Oregon State, Oregon, Arkansas, San Diego State, California, Arizona State, and UCLA,” said Lawrence. “Coaches from Arizona State came by to watch me, and all the others, except for UCLA, are coming today to watch me in open gym.”

The main quality Lawrence will analyze about his schools is the relationship between the head coach and him.
“I am looking for a coach I have a great bond with like I do with my high school coach,” he said. “I’d prefer to play in a transition offense, but I think I could do well in a half court style.”
Lawrence’s focus right now is on getting better by adding strength and improving his jump shot.
“I’m hitting the weights really hard,” he said. “I’m also working on my jumper and coming down on the break and pulling straight up. I try to make 500 jumpers a day.”
