Schools tracking Orton

2009 five-star prospect Daniel Orton of Oklahoma City Bishop High School is finding his stride after missing the early part of the season with a knee injury. The 6-foot-10, 260-pound center has had coaches from some of the top programs in the country watching him closely.
Kentucky, Kansas, Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma and UCLA have all watched Orton in action this winter.

Averaging 15 points, 13 rebounds, eight blocks and five assists per game, Orton is happy about the progression of his offensive game this year.
"I've come out this year and shown more of an offensive game," said Orton. "I'm shooting better, but still want to get it down to where it is automatic. I also would like to cut down on my turnovers some, but the main thing I do for my team is rebound and block shots."
Still high on Ohio State and Florida, Orton doesn't expect to have a college decision until next fall.
"I'd like to form a school list of 15 schools this summer and then trim it down to five or so at the end of the summer before I take my official visits," he said.
Orton is the No. 11 ranked prospect in the class of 2009.
Daniel Orton scouting report:
A huge physical presence, Orton does his best work on the defensive end, blocking shots and rebounding. Offensively, he feeds the post well from the high post, but has room for improvement as a low post scorer. He does have three-point shooting range.
