Schools taking notice of Zimmerman

Andrew Zimmerman, the 6-foot-9, 210-pound center from Oostburg (WI) High School has spent a great deal of time on the court in order to improve his game in hopes of become a complete player. Because of his progress and development, a number of college basketball programs have already stopped by the gym to get a closer look at the Wisconsin big man.
"American has been by twice to watch Andrew practice and play," said Oostburg head coach Kevin Bruggink. "Wisconsin, Marquette, Butler, Oakland, Illinois State, Davidson, Indiana State, Ball State, Valparaiso, Xavier and Loyola-Chicago have also been by to watch some of Andrew's games and practices.

"I know that Andrew has taken unofficial visits to Wisconsin, Butler and some other programs as well," he added. "I don't have the complete list in front of me, but I do know that he has taken a number of unofficial visits. Some of the programs recruiting Andrew have expressed a sincere interest in him."
According to Bruggink, player and coach have not spent too much time talking about the recruiting process. Zimmerman, the 6-foot-9, 210-pound center has been completely focused on his junior campaign at Oostburg High School.
"Andrew is definitely the key to our team," said Bruggink. "We are 13-3 right now and he is averaging 17-points and 10 rebounds a game for us. A lot of teams are pressing us this year, so Andrew has brought the ball up the court for us a number of times and has helped break the press.
"Andrew is playing well right now and he has improved his ability to score with his back to the basket," he added. "He used to be just comfortable scoring when he was facing the basket, but now he can do both. He is the type of player that just works his tail off. In my 16 years of coaching basketball, I have not been around a player that works harder than Andrew."
