Schools still romancing Stone

As the signing period draws closer, seniors are making decisions left and right. Saiquon Stone, a 6-foot-5, 170-pound small forward from Xaverian High School in New York is asking himself some deep questions about his three final schools and trying to get an idea on what school best suits him. He has visited two of the three finalists and could make his last visit this weekend. After that, it's decision time.
Stone told Rivals.com he's down to three schools - Fairfield, Marist and Providence. He and his mother will meet with Xaverian head coach Jack Alesi on Monday to discuss his options.

"We are going to meet and narrow things down so I can make a decision," Stone said. "I'm ready to get this over with."
Each of the schools offer positives, Stone says.
"Marist and Fairfield have been there from the beginning. I respect that. They've always wanted me," Stone said. Stone officially visited Fairfield early in the high school year and recently tripped to Marist after his senior season finished.
He may travel to Providence College this weekend for an official visit. With two of his AAU teammates, Geoff McDermott and Weyinmi Efejuku, already committed to the Big East program, Stone said he likes the situation but also knows he has some big things to consider with the school.
"Of course, they are in the Big East and I like that of them but I know with (McDermott and Efejuku) there, I know they both play my position. I'd love to play with them in college but I also know that this is a business," he said. "I have to make a big business decision. I want to be able to go somewhere that I can develop right away."
The decision process won't be easy but after hearing different approaches from coaches over the last two years, Stone is a grizzled veteran to the recruiting process. He knows what he is looking for.
"I'm looking for a place that is going to be prepare me over the next four years to get to the NBA. I want to play for a school that is going to stick with me if I'm not producing right away," Stone said. "Right now, I know I'm not a very good shooter. I want to know if the school I go to will recruit over me or whether they will help me. That's what I'm looking for."
