Three-star 2006 prospect David Schneider had a good showing at last summer's Nike Hoop Jamboree, showing a strong all-around game that you would expect out of a coach's son. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound combo guard from Brophy College Prep in Phoenix, Ariz., is having a fine junior season as well as a number of high-major schools are tracking his progress.

"Coaches from Syracuse, Michigan, Florida State, Texas A&M, Indiana, DePaul and USC have all been to see David play this year," said his father and AAU coach Jeff Schneider, who is also a former college coach. "A few others are supposed to be in before the end of the season."
Not overly athletic, but fundamentally sound and very instinctive as a player, Schneider is a very good catch and shoot prospect with a quick release and deep range. Schneider, who is also a solid ball handler is adept at getting the ball to scorers.
"David can shoot it from deep," said Coach Schneider. "He has NBA range. He's also one of the best post feeders I've ever seen. He's fundamentally sound and is a good athlete who plays hard.
"The better the big man he plays with, the better he'll be because he is such a good post feeder and you can't sag off him."
On the season, Schneider is averaging 19 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds per game. One of his best performances of the year was against St. Mary's High School (minus Jerryd Bayless) where he scored 31 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, had 7 assists and came up with 5 steals.
Schneider is also a very good student, carrying a 3.6 GPA.
