Schilb Chooses A School

Blake Schilb, a 6-7, 195-pound forward from Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, verballed to Loyola (IL) earlier today, according to head coach Jason Smith.
"It came down to him really wanting to be close to home to play in front of his friends and family," Smith said. "Also, he's very excited about the league and the great young talent Loyola has in their freshman and incoming class.

"Coach Spinelli and Coach Farmer did a terrific job of recruiting Blake," Smith added. "They got involved very early in the fall and stayed in close contact throughout the season."
Schilb selected Loyola over Bradley, Manhattan, College of Charleston, Toledo, and Southern Cal.
What Schilb showed this season was some perimeter skills that can hurt a defense. He isn't a great athlete but he has the ability to damage you along the perimeter. Schilb is also a good passer for a big man. He can spot an open teammate with a pass and he also works the offensive glass hard for rebounds.
A native of Rantoul, Ill., Schilb shined this past spring and summer with the Ft. SOOY program. He is at Brewster working on his core GPA requirements this year, as he has already scored a 19 on the ACT.
