2005 PROSPECTS WHO IMPRESSED
Bobby Frasor led the Illinois Wolves to a 52-51 overtime victory over Team Texas. Frasor, the No. 33 player in the class of 2005, finished with 25 points on 6 threes and was the best player on the court. On both the defensive end and offensive end, Frasor made the plays that win games.
Reginald and Richard Delk of the Midstate Ballerz continue to impress. The twins sport offers from Florida, N.C. State, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and UAB.
Keith Brumbraugh, the No. 7 player in the class of 2005, played well for Nike Team Florida. He is listing offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Auburn, and South Florida.
David Huertas played with some grit for the Miami Tropics in a hard fought lose to the New York Gauchos. Huertas, the No. 19 player in the class of 2005, is not shooting as well as usual, but he drove the ball in the lane and made good things happen.
2006 PROSPECTS WITH A REP
Thaddeus Young (2006, No. 16)- The 6-foot-8 small forward has big time skills and athleticism. Young listed offers from Memphis, Tennessee, and Indiana. He also is interested in California, Illinois, UAB, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Princeton, Oklahoma, and Stanford.
Derrick Caracter (2006, No. 3)- The 6-foot-8 power forward is large, probably a little too large. Nonetheless, he can dominate a game with his strength and mobility around the basket. Caracter mentioned Michigan, Miami, Indiana, and St. John’s.
Pierre Niles (2006, No. 11)- The 6-foot-7 small forward can both mix it up inside and play on the perimeter. Niles has offers from Memphis, Oklahoma State, Cincinnati, and Louisville. Arizona, Kansas, and Marquette are also involved.
Demond Carter (2006, No. 19)- The solidly built 5-foot-9 point guard can score it and pass it. Baylor, Texas, Ohio State, and Georgia Tech have made an impression on Carter.
OTHER NEWS
Jamont Gordon- The No. 9 player in the class of 2005 received offers from Florida, Alabama, and Memphis last week.
Kansas will be meeting next week with Brandon Costner (No. 18), Tyler Smith (No. 24), Micah Downs (soon to be ranked), and Mario Chalmers (No. 25).
Mississippi State is willing to sign as many as three perimeter players out of 2005. Jamont Gordon, Reginald Delk, Richard Delk, and Jarvis Hill are high on their list.
Kentucky is zeroing in on big men out of the class of 2005.
Darius Washington has transferred to IMG Academy and a jump to the NBA appears to be in the works.
