Sani Ibrahims Future Is Uncertain

TRENTON, NEW JERSEY -- Sani Ibrahim, a 6-10, 225 pound senior center from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., is still unsure about his plans for next year.
Ibrahim, a very agile Nigerian native in his second full year of organized basketball in the United States, could attend a high Division I school next year should he qualify academically.

Or, he could bypass college entirely and throw his hat into the NBA hopper for the June 2002 Draft.
Oak Hill Head Coach Steve Smith told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that Ibrahim needs to approach this decision carefully.
"I wouldn't want him to get in the draft and wind up like Ousmane Cisse," Smith said. "If he were to fall into the second round of the draft, there would be a good chance he would not make the team that drafted him."
While a handful of colleges continue to pursue Ibrahim, he needs to boost both his core GPA and SAT score according to Coach Smith.
Ibrahim scored nine of his 16 points in the second half on Friday night in Oak Hill's 74-54 victory over St. Patrick H.S. at the Prime Time Shootout. He was extremely active on the glass in the second half, which gave him many high percentage looks in the low post.
Ibrahim's future plans probably will not be known until sometime in the spring, and you can be sure that IR will keep you posted on the situation.
