Sani Ibrahim Update

Sani Ibrahim, a 6-11 center from the Winchendon School in Massachusetts, is expected to be at Oak Hill Academy next year.
"That's what I have been told," Smith said. "We expect him to be here next month when school starts. So he will be our center."

Last year's Oak Hill center was selected in the lottery in this past June's NBA draft. Many are predicting that Ibrahim will also be signing a big NBA deal after the 2002 June draft.
"I would not be surprised," Smith said. "From what I have seen and read, he has a good shot at doing that."
Smith said that Ibrahim should at least fill the hole that was left when Sagana Diop graduated this summer for the NBA. "He is big and strong," Smith said. "He does a lot of nice things inside."
Ibrahim had developed nicely in his junior year under head coach Mike Byrnes. Byrnes pushed Ibraham hard on both offense and defense as he does with all of his players.
Ibrahim is impressive in size and aggressiveness. Sani tries to dunk everything but does possess a nice touch on his jumper.
As the Insiders Report did last season with Tyson Chandler, we will avoid naming schools just to fill up a story. The odds favor Ibrahim leaving high school for the NBA. If these odds swing dramatically, we will start filling in realistic blanks for you.
