Sani Ibrahim Update

Sani Ibrahim, a 6-11 center from the Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, has been receiving phone calls from the programs of Alabama, West Virginia, Indiana, and Georgia over the past couple of weeks.
According to head coach Steve Smith, Ibrahim is also slowly playing himself into better shape. "He is trying hard," Smith said. "Right now he is trying to get himself ready academically and athletically for college."

Many basketball observors had thought that Sani would land in the NBA draft next year. But an average summer seemed to push down those expectations. "Sani is just focusing on becoming a better player," Smith said. "He is also trying hard in the classroom."
Sani took the test for the first time. This is one of the reasons why Ibrahim can't take any visits. In fact, Ibrahim never took the PSAT so this eliminated any early visits. As of posting this story, he has not set up any official visits.
"He is open right now," Smith said. "But it's up to Sani on what he wants to do. I don't know when he could take visits. Probably the earliest will be sometime in January when we have a break."
Ibrahim will need his test score back before he can take any official visits. Ibrahim has a great deal of work to do to qualify academically. But he is such an intriguing prospect that many schools are staying in touch in case Sani is ready to play college ball.
