Sani Ibrahim Making Progress

Sani Ibrahim, a 6-11 center from the Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, is still progressing in the classroom and on the court, according to Warriors head coach Steve Smith.
Ibrahim has been receiving interest from the programs of Alabama, West Virginia, Indiana, and Georgia over the past two months. According to Smith, Ibrahim is also in much better shape.

"Like all the players coming back from the break, it was a little tough getting going again," Smith said. "But Sani is doing well. He had 14 points and about 10 rebounds in our last game."
The last game was this past weekend against Charlotte Country Day School. Oak Hill won 88-51. "They had a big crowd on hand and they have a good team," Smith said. "But our guys played hard. And Sani did a good job."
Though Smith won't talk about it, Ibrahim's biggest challenge is getting enough core grades and a high enough SAT or ACT score to qualify. Coming into the summer, Ibrahim thought he would be one of the high schoolers to take a shot at the NBA. This is now in question. Ibrahim had an average summer and needs to pick up his play to be considered by an NBA team as worthy of being selected in this June's draft.
He has been working hard," Smith said. "Right now he is trying to get himself ready academically and athletically for college."
