Sam Kaplan Opening Some Eyes

Worcester Academy head coach Mo Cassara tells us that his player, Sam Kaplan, a 6-7, 230-pound forward is opening some eyes with his recent play.
"Sam played for me since he was a freshman," Cassara said. "He was the first freshman ever to make the varsity here. This past weekend he had some great games."

Cassara is correct when he praises Kaplan. Sam led Worcester in scoring in the two games played this past weekend. Against Avon, Kaplan scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in an easy victory.
Kaplan continued the fine run by scoring 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against Northfield Mt. Hermon, a team that was impressive to rivalshoops.com during the Boy's Club event in New York City.
"He is really attacking the glass, and feeding off our up-tempo style," Cassara said. "Sam has a great touch around the basket and a great feel for the game."
Boston College, Providence, Clemson and several Atlantic 10 schools are now starting to show some signs of interest. But the early serious interest has come from Richmond, Penn, Princeton, and William & Mary.
"He is an honor roll student and just turned 16," Cassara said. "He has already visited Princeton unofficially in December. He is still open."
Rivalshoops.com will see Kaplan and Worcester play this week. We will give you our thoughts later this week on their team and its opponents.
