Sam Houston State lands big man
Sam Houston State landed themselves a primary target on Thursday night. Big man Michael Holyfield gave a verbal commitment to Jason Hooten and his Bearkats crew.
Holyfield, a six-foot-10 center from Albuquerque (N.M.) Manzano, is an athletic center who can run, contests shots and hit the glass. Because of that, colleges sought him out all summer as he hit the floor with Ross Romero's New Mexico Force.
According to Romero, Holyfield also had interest from Texas State, Boise State, Boston College, Colorado State, The Citadel, San Francisco and several others.
