Ryan Andersons phone is ringing

The top high school basketball players receive a great deal of attention from college coaches and scouts during the spring and summer before their senior seasons and included among this group is Ryan Anderson. The 6-foot-10 power forward from Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills (Calif.) has several offers from mid and high major schools.
After a great junior season in which he led the Trojans to the Div. II state championship, becoming the first team from the Sacramento area to win a state title in Division I or II, Ryan earned NorCal Div. II Player of the Year honors. Now he is receiving serious attention from college scouts.

The schools on Anderson's list include Connecticut, Cal, Pacific, San Diego St., Gonzaga, Arizona State, Princeton, Cornell, USC, Santa Barbara, Washington, Wyoming, San Jose State, St. Mary's, Loyola Marymount, and Sacramento State. USC, Pacific, San Diego State, and San Jose State have all offered scholarships.
Despite the attention, Ryan has kept himself busy, participating in several camps including the Double Pump West Coast All Star Camp, and college camps at UOP, USC, and UCLA. He also competed in the Sacramento Professional Development League. Over the next two weeks, he will be among the participants in the Big Time tournament in Las Vegas and the Best of the Summer tournament in Los Angeles.
"I want to go [to college] where I can play, and I want to play for a team who can use my skills," said Ryan. "For the most part, I'm just looking for a coaching staff that I can work with to help me grow."
According to Ryan, all the schools mentioned are good academically, which is another preference of his. Currently, he maintains a 3.0 GPA and has not taken the SAT yet.
"I'm just open to all the options I can get at this point," said Ryan.
Right now, Ryan is keeping all of his options open and is looking forward to August when he will be able to communicate more with colleges through official and unofficial visits.
