Rutgers lands another

Rutgers continues to tear up the recruiting scene under the leadership of Mike Rice. The latest commitment is 2011 four-star point guard Jerome Seagears.
Seagears made his mark on the scouting scene with his play during the spring of the travel circuit. Then in July, he impressed the college coaches.

With a number of scholarship offers, Seagears ended up choosing Rutgers over Cincinnati.
"It was my relationship with the coaching staff that made the difference," said Seagears, 6-foot-1, 173-pounds from Red Springs (N.C.) Flora Macdonald Academy. "From Coach Rice to the last assistant, I bonded with them all. I felt so comfortable with them during the in-home visit and during my unofficial visit."
Seagears also spoke about his high hopes for the future of Rutgers basketball.
"Coach Rice has a passion for being successful," said Seagears. "It is going to spread to the team and he is bringing in some great players."
Seagears, the No. 99 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, joins fellow four-star prospect Kadeem Jack and three-star prospects Myles Mack, Derrick Randall and Malick Kone.
