Russ Blake On Martin Iti

Martin Iti, a 6-10, 225 pound junior center from the Winchendon School in Winchendon, Mass., has drawn the interest of NBA scouts this winter.
Winchendon Head Coach Mike Byrnes said that the New York Knicks have already been on campus to take a look at Iti. Byrnes said he has fielded calls from nine other NBA franchises, and many of them are also planning to look at Iti this winter.

Byrnes declined to name any colleges that are recruiting Iti, although he said a who's who of schools are already looking at the Australian big man.
"After this summer, we will see what's best for him," Byrnes said.
Iti is expected to attend the adidas ABCD Camp this summer. Last summer, he played with the Pump N Run squad at the adidas Big Time Tournament and Best of the Summer Tournament.
Iti had attended Villa Park H.S. in California but ran into some visa problems. He got back into the country last summer and impressed the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com at the Best of the Summer Tournament with his mobility and athleticism.
Iti is a defensive presence in the middle who challenges a lot of shots. He does not have to score to have an impact on the game.
IR will keep you posted on Iti this year, as we expect to see him in action again this season.
