Shagari Alleyne, the 7-2 center from Rice High School, was seen walking around the Rose Hill Gym on Saturday and Sunday. Alleyne is listed on the New York Ravens roster. We asked an official from the Ravens on why Alleyne wasn't playing and the reply was: "He told us he was studying for his regents and couldn't play. He wanted to play on Sunday but we felt we should just go with the guys that got us to this point." ...
A fifth grader played in the Rumble in the Bronx. Yes, I said a player, 11-years-old, played for the Diaper Dans of Virginia. His name is Logan Jones out of Bessie-Weller Elementary School in Virginia. We had a chance to watch him a little.
He saw limited action for his team but he looked okay. But playing a fifth grader for a minute or two is questionable. Don't know how this helps in his progress as a player but his coach felt confident this was the right thing to do ...
