Royal makes his pick
When Julian Royal stepped up to the podium at Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton on Thursday afternoon, there was little question what he was going to do. Everybody in the building knew that he would be staying in-state, the question was whether he'd be a Georgia Tech Yellowjacket or a Georgia Bulldog.
After some opening remarks, Rivals.com's 90th ranked player in the class of 2011 made his decision and announced that he'd be Paul Hewitt's first recruit of the class of 2011 and a Georgia Tech Yellowjacket.

"My heart told me to go to Georgia Tech," said Royal at the presser.
A four-star prospect, Royal toured the past few summers with the Southern Kings and had a brief stint with the Georgia Blazers. He's a skilled face-up guy that can run the floor and is a good shooter to 17 feet.
